Pura Vida Costa Rica!

Hi everyone!

Bianca and Kim here writing to you from Jaco Beach! Bianca and I have enjoyed our time very much here in Costa Rica.  We both agree it is easily one of the most beautiful places we have ever traveled to.  From the people to the sunset we have no words other than Pura Vida! Costa Rica is truly the "Pure Life".  Over this trip we have met some amazing people who truly taught us how privileged we both are.  We are very humbled by our experience.  The people of Costa Rica have appreciated every second of time we have given them. After 62 hardworking hours of medical care we finally got to enjoy our time as a group at the Baldi hot springs.  If anyone wants to know the WIFI password Kim has no idea what it is! We had an amazing time in the 116 degree hot springs.  The beauty of volcano in the background was breath taking.   We truly have grown as a group through collaboration not only in our clinical skills but as friends.  We will take every memory good and bad and will carry it with us forever.  We are the bakers dozen!

  1. The ten days that we shared as a bakers dozen was such an incredible experience. We were able to learn from one another and also work together as a team to treat the communities of Costa Rica. It was a life changing experience that I will never forget. Okie Dokie!

  2. I totally agree with you guys! I am so thankful and happy to have had this experience and to share it with such great people. We definately made some unforgetable memories! The sense of teamwork was undeniable working in this group and the comments from Marta and Fiorella confirmed that we were like a well oiled machine working together every step of the way...from loading the luggage on the bus, to counting all the medications at the end of the day. Good luck to the next group...they have a hard act to follow ;)

  3. I have to be the fourth person to say that I am so amazing thankful and surprised that our group all came so close together. Even though most of us are non-traditional students, we all come from different backgrounds and walks of life. I have never seen such a large group of women come together and work as well in a group and in smaller bunches. I feel so privileged to not only work with the amazing patients that we had during our care delivery but also feel so thankful to have such an amazing group of classmates. And I also have to very much agree with Olivia, every group that our professors take on this trip and every group that Marta and Fiorella host have a high standard to meet before they will measure up.

  4. The bakers dozen! I love that so much. All of you ladies made this trip amazing, as well as our professors, ISL guides, and all of the helpful folks we encountered along the way. This was a once in a lifetime experience, and I'm grateful that I experienced it with you!

    Pura Vida!
